The week before finals at CUNY Bernard M. Baruch College is a very hectic week. This is the time that most students take advantage of the Baruch College Library - staying, sometimes sleeping, there or they find quiet places to do their work.
With the semester coming to a close at Baruch College, the stress level of students is at an all-time high.  The need to do well on their exams is what causes this elevation of stress especially when the results expected are not what is given or the pressure to get certain academic results. Despite being unpleasant, stress is not necessarily an illness. However, there are connections between stress and mental health conditions which includes depression and anxiety.
It is also during this time that many students seek out places or activities that will help them de-stress. At Baruch College, the Office of Health and Wellness offers many programs and trainings, such as a weekly yoga program to provide a moment of stillness as well as self-reflection, a bi-weekly radio talk show, DIY programs (making candles, essential oils, and facial scrubs), cooking demonstrations, mental health first aid training and CPR/AED/First Aid training.
